Scorned by trend-worshipping San Franciscans, tolerated by Walnut Creeksters who like us for the money we spend in their anchor stores and bars, Lamorindans might suffer from a darn inferiority complex if it wasn’t for the fact that we’re so darn superior to others who share our East Bay Area.
Call us what you will: Borindans, Moraga Mavens, Bridge and Tunnel pretenders hoping for a night of urban cool, we have a small piece of the suburban ideal staked out – land, coyotes, Trader Joes – and you’ll pry it away from us like a carjacker gets the keys to our Beemers: grudgingly, if at all.
If you want the truth about what it’s like to live here, our squabbles, ideals and lack of them, this is the place to read about it. East Bay Daze will cover Lamorinda like the morning fog covers the hills – and will cover ourselves honestly, with a no-prisoners, no-nonsense approach we think captures the attitude that makes life in the Lamorinda Triangle special – and maybe just a touch too precious.
